Love allows understanding to dawn, and understanding is precious. Where you are understood, you are at home. Understanding nourishes belonging. When you really feel understood, you feel free to release yourself into the trust and shelter of the other person’s soul.

Thank you for sharing these words, Juanita. They touched me this morning as I contentedly sit in my safe home and listen to the church bells on our street calling our neighbours to Mass. The words bring to mind some of the lack of understanding that is evident in relationships with those close to our family. Oneday I hope to share these words with them, and perhaps dialogue will open and understanding will enter. You manage to touch me in profound ways, Juanita, I cherish our friendship.
